Welcome to the Barkston Ash Catholic Primary School website! With God's guidance we grow and learn.

Parents  »  Helping Hands PTA

It is the aim of Helping Hands PTA to support the school in two ways:
  1. Providing social events to build and develop strong and effective relationships between pupils, parents and school staff
  2. Raise much needed funds to provide equipment, activities or facilities to enhance the children's school experience.
We welcome all parents and guardians of children attending the school, as well as school staff, to our meetings.  We aim to meet approximately once per term (more so in the run up to big events), generally in the Ash Tree pub in Barkston Ash.

We hold regular, much loved, social events including Christmas Fayre, Summer BBQ, School Disco amongst others. Not only are these events a great way to encourage a great school community but they have helped in raising funds for building projects, media equipment for the school hall, pantomimes, outdoor furniture, school books, kindles and more recently iPads!

Ways in which YOU can help:
  • www.ragbag.co.uk - we have recently arranged for a textile recycling bin via Rag Bag to be permanently placed in the school classroom.  This raises £400 per tonne so please DO NOT bin your unwanted clothes, household linen & towels, handbags and shoes, PLEASE DEPOSIT THEM (IN BAGS) INTO OUR RAG BAG BIN.

  • www.easyfundraising.org.uk - Earn donations when you shop online with no extra cost to you.

  • Matched funding - Some companies offer Matched Giving Schemes where they match the amount raised for a good cause by employees. Please ask your company if they offer this scheme and we could raise an extra few £1000 a year!
  • Helping Hands Twitter - coming soon
  • Helping Hands Facebook Group - a great way to keep in touch with the school community. Join the group "Barkston Ash School Parents Forum".
Watch this space for dates of future meetings and do your best to come along - it's a great way to be more involved in the school community and to have your say in how our raised funds are spent.
